Well done Filmbox teams & supporters!

WE DID IT! Today our 2 FILMBOX teams, ‘Walk Gate’ and ‘Film Buffs’, together raised £1132.59 in aid of St Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham.

We had a great family day out, strolling in beautiful countryside, with perfect weather – no hardship at all.

Great big thanks and hugs to all who supported us!

QUIZ: What’s the film in the ‘Top 10 Films of all time’ that was made in 1972?

Oh what a night!..

Not a reference to Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons (showing my age…), but a response to another great night out with FILMBOX. The audience was superb and enjoyed our fab-u-lous singers (Olly Christopher, Emma Tullis, Ellie Carter, Jonathan Stevens and Marco Lombardi – all in Yr13 – stars of the future!), ‘Les Miserables’ on screen in all its glory AND the ICE CREAM!

Thank you to all those who attended for your generosity in raising £211 for the Bromley branch of the NSPCC – much appreciated. If you didn’t get a copy of the programme notes last night, our apologies, please visit this link: https://langleyfilmbox.wordpress.com/film-notes-2/

There is still time to sponsor the two FILMBOX teams walking in this Sunday’s Fun Walk in Keston. Today the marquees are being set up on Keston Common! Please donate online:  http://www.justgiving.com/teams/FilmboxCommunityCinema

And a BIG thank you to The Beckenham Bookshop for generously sponsoring our raffle prizes! Do visit your local bookshop for friendly and knowledgeable service: http://www.beckenhambooks.com

Films with ‘Walking’ in the title?

In trying to make a catchy headline pun so that you’ll look at this post … I can only come up with ‘Dead Man Walking’ or ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’… neither of which are especially good omens for the two FILMBOX teams valiantly walking around Keston this Sunday (hopefully not in the rain…)!

We’re trying to raise £1000 in aid of St Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham, in memory of colleagues, friends and families – to spur us on, please give what you can to support this local charity.
