Fasten your seat belts TONIGHT for MAD MAX: FURY ROAD (15)! @BeckBromFL £8/5

Tickets are still available for Mad Max: Fury Road with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron TONIGHT Thursday 26 May. Licensed bar open from 7pm and film programme from 7.45pm. Whilst Tom Hardy is always watchable, it’s really Charlize Theron’s picture and Miller has created a strong post-feminist post-script to the previous testosterone and gasoline-fuelled Mel Gibson films. OK, OK, so it’s still testosterone and gasoline-fuelled – BUT with a difference…

It’s all about the girls and should have been called ‘Mad Maxine’. In the awards season this February, the film garnered many awards (6 Oscars and 4 BAFTAs, just for starters!) for its superb technical and crafts work – so come and marvel at it! This is a film about spectacle and determination, not narrative, so fasten your seats belts, for a full-throttle break-neck ride down Fury Road… and back!

Wed 9 Dec – IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE – Even if you only saw it last year, you’ll definitely want to begin this year’s Christmas celebrations with this timeless tale from Frank Capra, with Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey, who gets to see what the world would have been like without him. Sat 12 Dec – FROZEN: Official Sing Along version – Find a child or grand-child to bring (or a group of vocal friends), grab some fairy dust and sing your heart out! A new Christmas classic, not just for children.

We’ll start with one number sung all together to get everyone tuned up – we’ll also be getting in some less rich ice creams for the little ones as they tend to find Simply a bit too indulgent – more for us eh?! We sold out quickly in Screen 1 last year, so don’t be late!
