Join before 20 August and bring a friend to our ‘Members’ Only‘ social event on Friday 30 August – only £5 per ticket for one drink and canapés (additional refreshments available) and see a FREE screening of the 1974 version of ‘The Great Gatsby’ (directed by Jack Clayton) with Robert Redford as the eponymous Gatsby. Sparkling reception from 6.30pm, film programme from 7.45pm – dress code: Black tie and glamour!

Save 40% on up to 2 cinema tickets for fortnightly films (on alternate Weds and Thurs) and special events from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2014!  Even if you only see 6 films in this period you’ll break even! Bring a friend and you’ll save lots of money!

If you live in Beckenham, West Wickham, Bromley and surrounding areas, FILMBOX is now a credible independent compliment to local commercial cinema programming and offers you ‘catch-ups’ and classics from the UK, Hollywood and World cinema, in a social context.

FREE parking, no popcorn mess, congenial cafe/bar atmosphere, local drinks and Simply ice cream (from Ashford) plus ‘extras’ – short films, free film notes and intros and a great social atmosphere. Based at the recently built Langley Park Centre for the Performing Arts, FILMBOX is a community cinema club, run and staffed by volunteers and our surplus profits go to charity including Langley Park School for Boys.

We have lots of new and classic films coming your way, starting with the current release of ‘Robot & Frank’ (2012) on Weds 11 Sept, followed by Hitchcock’s masterpiece ‘Vertigo’ (1958) on Thurs 26 Sept on the HUGE screen in the Bromley Hall and then Buster Keaton’s silent comedy ‘Sherlock Junior’ (1924) on Fri 27 Sept, accompanied by international professional jazz artists, the Buster Birch quartet ( Then on Sat 28 and Sun 29 Sept we have our FREE film festival to celebrate our 1st Birthday! ‘Some Don’t Like it Quite This Hot’! Phew, we’re busy planning Autumn…

‘Untouchable’ played beautifully last night – an ice cool cinema and lots of happy smiling faces and laughs at this superb film – if you missed it, do try to see it soon.

Friday 30 August 2013 ‘The Great Gatsby’ (1974 Robert Redford version) – 6.30pm for 7.45pm – a special ‘Members Only’ event for the new members of FILMBOX. Black tie and glamour. Film is FREE but £5 ticket for 1 glass of fizz/non-alcoholic alternative and canapes. Join by 20 August 2013 to qualify for an invite (just so we can cater for numbers etc.). 16+ only. Thursday 26 September – our 1st Birthday – Hitchcock’s magnificent ‘Vertigo’ (on the BIG screen in the Bromley Hall, 6.30pm for 7.30pm). £8/5. Under 16s welcome.


You can book ‘Buster Plays Buster’ NOW at (arranged by LPCPA not FILMBOX hence different booking website) on Friday 27 September 7.30pm (refreshments from 6.40pm). Allocated seating in the magnificent Bromley Hall (in Beckenham!) – £10/£6. Live jazz accompaniment by international jazz musician (and old boy of LPSB!) Buster Birch to Buster Keaton’s 1924 silent masterpiecve, ‘Sherlock Junior’. Under 16s welcome.
