Festival booking opens to non-members on Thursday 5 September from 8am.
SAT 28 SEPT – 14:00 – FREE – ‘PONYO’ (Studio 609/Cert U) – Especially for little film buffs – Japanese Disney (but better), Studio Ghibli’s enchanting take on the Hans Christian Andersen children’s classic ‘The Little Mermaid’ – dubbed in English by Hollywood stars. Under 16s VERY welcome!
SAT 28 SEPT – 17:00 – FREE – ‘THE GREAT GATSBY’(Studio 609/Cert 12A) – Baz Luhrmann’s glamorous and spectacular re-make with Leonardo DiCaprio, with great music. Under 16s welcome according to certificate.
SAT 28 SEPT – 20:00 – FREE – OUTDOOR SCREENING/Cert PG –‘MAMMA MIA’ – SING ALONG – Under 16s welcome.
At Langley Park Boys’ School’s lovely rear Bandstand and patio area, secure and admission is controlled. Delicious Bar B Q, refreshment stalls from 19.00! Come and enjoy supper with friends and family before the film. We have a wet weather plan so the fun can take place indoors! Bring chairs, blankets and cushions and the whole family. No outside food or drink please – there will be plenty available at reasonable prices. You can even exit ‘The Great Gatsby’ and pick up a drink and something for the bar b q and then go into ‘Seven Psychopaths’ if ‘Mamma Mia’ isn’t your cup of tea.
SAT 28 SEPT – 20:00 – FREE – ‘SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS’ (Studio 609/Cert 15) – 16+ only – ID may be asked for. From the writer/director of ‘In Bruges’ with Colin Farrell and Christopher Walken. Especially for non-’Mamma Mia’ fans!
SUN 29 SEPT – 14:00 – FREE – The Globe Theatre’s 2012 acclaimed production of William Shakespeare’s great and accessible comedy‘TWELFTH NIGHT‘ starring Stephen Fry and Mark Rylance (STUDIO 609). Finishes at 5.30pm including a 30min interval with cakes! Under 16s welcome – the film is exempt from classification, but suitable for age 10+.
A great opportunity to introduce your friends to FILMBOX (as we’d like to really increase our membership – we’ve already beaten last year’s total of members in only 2 months!), you can see as many films as you like in our FREE film festival (and indeed we have timed it so you could go from one to the other all day, except for the 8.00pm shows which hopefully give most people a suitable alternative!) – something for the whole family!
FREE tickets must be booked online in advance and all venues have limited seating availability.
