Season’s Greetings to all from FILMBOX

THANK YOU to everyone who came and helped at last night’s screening of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’! We hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did! We are also happy that we raised £150 for St Christopher’s Hospice, thanks to your generosity. We were delighted to have such a huge audience for a special ‘break-out’ screening from our usual Studio 609 venue. We’d be very pleased to receive feedback from you regarding this event in order to develop our facilities and programme – please email us at

Please look at our FILMBOX PROGRAMME DEC 12 for details of our Membership Scheme, which we hope that you’ll take advantage of – to start from January to August 2013 for a pilot period. Applications for membership must be received by 29 January 2013.

Please also see the programme of films that we have coming up for you… starting with ‘My Week With Marilyn’ on Wednesday 30 January 2013 – when the event will be run entirely by a Year 13 team! Do please come and support them and enjoy a great little film.

You will be able to book online for the new season very soon using the Ticket Source link to your right.

Special thanks are due to the following for their support of last night’s event:

  • Gary and Sarah from Holwood Farm Shop in Downe – for their generous spread of delicious high quality foods from their new deli and farm shop in Downe (and lovely luxury hamper that a lucky raffle winner took home!). The perfect place to get special cheeses and cold meats, and much, much more, for your Christmas and New Year tables.  Avoid queues and parking charges and enjoy stress-free grocery shopping and gift-buying without the hassle of the high street. And a lovely coffee shop open for breakfast, light lunches and teas too! Please mention FILMBOX when you visit them and they might come and help us again! for opening times etc.
  • Tom Williams from Richer Sounds, East Street Bromley, thank you for a superb and generous raffle prize – again, Santa came early for someone lucky!
  • Diane Ebden and all the amazing singers from Just Voices – a highly professional a cappella vocal group based in Bromley, who prepared the audience with a superb selection of Christmas popular songs before the film. They are available for many occasions and are always on the look out for new singers.
  • Amber Napthine (a Year 13 Film Studies student) gave a very assured introduction to the film.
  • To the whole FILMBOX team – Vivienne Clark, Sarah Niblock, Katy Showell, Natalie Perrett, Sue Thomas, Deb Allen, Sarah Peacock – VI form helpers, Julie Podbielski-Stewart, Aisling McWeeney, Danielle Howland, Ellie Buckland, Abby Burnett and Stefan Kopczynski and to Oliver Spier for his photography.
  • To the LPCPA team – namely Martin Costello and Ben Stephen, with Tom Tompkins.
  • LPSB site staff.

Happy Christmas and every good wish for 2013 – from Vivienne, Sarah and the whole FILMBOX team!
