4 days to go to FILMBOX launch!

Yr13 students at LPSB chose the name FILMBOX and now Sarah Wickings has designed our fab new logo, which will be up soon, and Simon Burgess is creating an ident and trailer. A big THANK YOU to you both! Yr12 and 13 students will be working alongside staff on the night and we’re busy rehearsing our secret short film surprise.

Our forthcoming programme and membership package has been finalised and will be announed on Wednesday.  If you have tickets for the launch, get into the spirit of The Artist and wear black, white and/or red – then you’ll be part of the experience on this side of the silver screen.

Remember – FILMBOX receives no direct susbsidy from LPSB (but who generously provide us with premises), we are all volunteers and any any profits will be put back into FILMBOX to develop future events. We’ll be having a retiring collection on the night – if you enjoyed the evening, kindly please fold your donation and put in the buckets on the way out!  Come back to the website to read a review, see photos of the night…

Founded in September 2012 to provide a wider film programme than available in local commercial cinemas, at good value prices for grown-ups, with a sociable community atmosphere and a licensed bar. We are a not-for-profit community cinema with a membership, open to non-members too. Run by dedicated and energetic volunteers.
